Hello User, It is good that you have plant based diet but along with that the time at which you take diet is also important. Sleeping pattern, physical activity along with the diet plays a significant role in the well being of mind and body. Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones become weak and brittle. There is pain in bones and joints. It also becomes the reason for arthritis. The bones can become so weak that even a small pressure can result into a fracture. Possible reasons Obesity. Hormonal imbalance. Incorrect lifestyle. Sedentary habits. Wrong eating habits. Diseases like thyroid. Lack of proper nutrition. Foods to eat Start your day with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon juice in it. This will boost the metabolism of your body in the morning and will help to flush out the toxins out of the body. Eat a full bowl of sprouts in breakfast with freshly prepared homemade fruit juice. Eat soaked nuts and dry fruits to get the easily absorbable proteins. Eat fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables. Drink coconut water. Include salads, whole grains like barley in your diet. Foods to avoid Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc. Avoid animal foods. Avoid tea, coffee, and other such caffeinated drinks. Avoid carbonated drinks. Avoid sugars and sugary foods. Avoid oily and spicy foods. Physical activity Being physically active is important to keep the metabolism of the body good which in turn will help to maintain the hormonal balance. It will improve blood circulation in the whole body. Start your day with a short morning walk of at least 30 to 40 minutes. Do plank for 5min. Do suryanamaskar regularly. Do tada asana, trikona asana, vriksha asana, padahasta asana. Walk barefoot on grass early in the morning. Take early morning sun rays daily as the sunshine vitamin will help to check the health of bones. Sleep The sleeping pattern determines the circadian rhythm, immunity, and hormonal balance. Hence, having a good quality sleep is very essential. Take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning. Thank you

Hello User, Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when excessive toxins get accumulated in the body. Following a wrong lifestyle, eating wrong foods, not doing any physical activity, hormonal imbalance, and incorrect sleeping pattern leads to a disturbed metabolism which results in toxin accumulation in the body. Local application Firstly you need to understand that the pain in rheumatoid arthritis is not like other pains. Usually people apply oil or do massage to get releif from pain but in rheumatoid arthritis application of oil will aggravate the pain because here the pain is due to the formation of ama (toxins). Mix sand and rock salt in equal parts and warm it in a vessel. Roll it in any cloth ( make a potli of it) and apply this heat pack on the areas of pain. Foods to eat- Start the day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice in it. This will help to improve the metabolism and to flush out the toxins out of the body. Drink green tea twice a day, one in the morning on an empty stomach and the other at night before sleeping. Eat only plant-based natural foods. Include salads, nuts, beans, and sprouts in your diet. Eat soaked dry fruits to get the easily absorbable nutrients. Drink coconut water. Drink plenty of water during the day to eliminate the toxins out of the body. Foods to avoid- Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc. Avoid animal foods. Avoid carbonated drinks. Avoid processed, packaged, oily, and spicy foods. Avoid tea, coffee, and other caffeinated drinks. Exercise Being physically active is very essential for good metabolism. Start your day with a short morning walk. Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. Perform yoga asanas like bhujanga asana, trikona asana, padahasta asana, hala asana. Do pranayam daily, specially anulom-vilom and kapalbhati pranayam. Take sunrays early in the morning for 15 to 20 minutes daily. Sleep Sleep helps to maintain the circadian rhythm and also hormonal balances. Hence, taking proper sleep is very important. Take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning. Avoid electronic equipment at least 1hour before sleeping for an increased quality of sleep. Hi i am vibha I have arthritis since 18 years how can I heel arthritis with food?

Hello Vibha, Arthritis or pain in joints is one of the most common problems faced by the people of elderly age group and a few from the middle age group. The problem of arthritis can be broadly divided into two categories which are Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is mainly due to the friction between the two bones resulting in the erosion and degradation of the joint. Rheumatoid arthritis is the autoimmune disease in which a body’s own immune system destroys the joints of the body resulting in inflammation of joints. I’ll try to cover the domain which is common for both of them. 1. Dietary advice: Eat food which is rich in calcium and iron. Numerous vegetables like spinach etc are an excellent source of the vital minerals. A plant-based diet and a natural approach is advisable. Add turmeric to your diet. Turmeric has a compound called curcumin which has been known to reduce inflammation and aid healing. Ginger tea, and adding ginger in the diet will help you with soothing the inflammation. Ginger also has a calming effect on the body. Fruits like Pineapple which contain Bromelain and cherries which contain anthocyanocides help in relieving the inflammation. Seeds like flax seeds, chia seeds etc are also beneficial in both the types of arthritis. 2. Physical advice: Exercise is one of the main condition for a healthy joint and a healthy body. Do not overstrain the joint but a mild form of exercises like walking or brisk walking etc will prove beneficial. Walking in sunlight daily morning for a minimum of 30-40 minutes will help your body to synthesize Vitamin D naturally. Vitamin D has direct involvement and also has a key role in the strengthening bones and joints. 3. Mental advice: Mental stress has been found to be one of the leading reason and a triggering factor for rheumatoid arthritis and many other autoimmune diseases. Calming exercises can make a difference. Breathing exercises like Anulom-Vilom, Kapal bharati etc can be much more beneficial than you think. Sound sleep and a stress-free living and thinking will play a key role in the process of healing. Meditate daily for 30- 40 minutes. It will calm you and aid in the healing process. 4. Routine and lifestyle advice: Do not drink too much coffee or tea. Green teas would be more suitable for you. Drink plenty of water as water has been known to flush out toxins from the body. Massaging the stiff joint might give you momentary relief. Frequently rest your joints. I hope I have covered all the points. Do let me know in the comments if you have any doubts. Thank you. Hello Shivani, I hope with this diet and some home exercise in this lockdown time you will be able to reduce weight. Weight loss becomes difficult when we do not follow the right method. In some cases, there are also underlying diseases like thyroid, but in case you are not having any symptoms, then the first thing in losing weight is following discipline. Discipline will help you lose weight in a healthy manner. Protein is the first thing which will help in increasing or decreasing weight and the first thing we need to concentrate on. Getting a toned body with losing weight should be helpful. It should be about everything, food, meditation, sleep and exercise which amalgamate for good health. Eat: The first thing in the morning is to start your day with something light in nature. Easy to digest is what your breakfast should be because they are the kind of nutrients that get absorbed easily. Even the early morning ritual should include consumption of two-three glasses of warm water with one teaspoon of methi seeds, which will help in flushing out all the toxins and this will accelerate weight loss. Have a bowl of sprouts with a glass of bottle guard juice and an inch of ginger. After two hours, one fruit, possibly a seasonal fruit like oranges, papaya, guava. Lunch should have one buckwheat flour roti with any oil-free vegetable. Buckwheat will also make your bone stronger and help in reducing knee pain. Snack in the evening should have almonds and walnuts, apricots. Dinner should be done by 7 with soup, a bowl full of raw vegetable salad. This will help a lot, continue for a month to see results. Exercise: Pranayam helps in detoxifying the body. Practising it early morning in an area that has good sunlight will help in improving blood circulation. Suryanamaskar, daily 12 sets will help in increasing the blood circulation of your body. Pull-ups, pushups are all helping in order to increase muscle mass and loss weight. Hello Heena, A dehydrated body is the most important cause of arthritis. The reason it happens is because of the fact that the cartilage between each of our joint which gives the needed mobility and helps our body to flow in grace, is 90 percent made of water. When our body gets into the state of dehydration this tissue becomes rugged and wears off. Now let us understand this: the fluid in the body like blood, sweat, tear, lymph all at once start becoming thicker and diseased. Our body goes into the state of defense once it starts getting low fluid in order to protect. An inflammatory reaction like pain, redness, swelling come in the picture. Giving the right amount of fluid to increase the mobility of joints which is causing arthritis is important. By following a natural way we can definitely treat arthritis. Eat: A good amount of water is needed in the body, 5-6 liters of water is at least needed in the body. The blood is there 5-6 liters so at least that much of water is needed in the body. Start storing the water in copper bottles so as to make sure we get a good amount of copper. Copper is the required mineral which helps in treating fluid. Let us start our day with a good amount of water, 2-3 glasses of warm water help in flushing out the toxins. These toxins which come and make our immunity vulnerable to diseases need to be flushed. When we eat the right kind of food at the right time we make sure that it is easily absorbed. Your breakfast should comprise of something light. A fruit bowl and after sometime, a glass of vegetable juice is easy to digest. This will help in the absorption of nutrients easily. Food items like cucumbers, musk melons, watermelons are helpful. Vitamin C contains antioxidants that are helpful in treating the inflammation caused in the body, by the lack of fluid. Calcium is another mineral that is needed at this stage to make sure our bones are working in harmony. Seeds are good source of calcium, for example, flax seeds. The consumption of seeds after lunch like a mouth freshener is a very good way of dealing with deficiency. Exercise: Let us start with dealing with the exercise part in a broader spectrum, exercising will not only help you in bringing back the comfort but also get a good amount of energy. 1. A brisk walk is something that you can do daily without getting joint pain. 2. Do child pose, cobra pose and angry cat pose of yoga in the written sequence and continue with suryanamaskar 12 sets and start with 6 in case of pain and discomfort. This will definitely help you. With the help of these guidelines, you will surely be able to work on you and your exercises will be fruitful without discomfort or pain. Meditation: Practice mindful meditation. Deal with your stress. Allow positivity to be part of your life. Doing a 15-minute exercise before sleep like deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind, you can use music also for relaxation. A calm mind will lead to a healthier body. Sleep: Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is very essential for the body, during sleep our body repairs itself and rejuvenates us for the whole day. All the inflammatory process will be treated well once you feel healthy. Hopefully, these suggestions will help you. Thank you.

Hello Barath, This answer is for your mother. With our sedentary lifestyle and fatty diet, the knees which become the weight-bearing joint of our body get extra-loaded and this happens to make our body very weak and vulnerable. In order to protect our body to get more damages, we have to protect it with a healthy lifestyle. The reason our body works in harmony is because of the fact that the fluid is present in the body, this acts as grease in the body which tends to make sure that all the organs have a smooth flow in function. The knee cap gets disturbed due to the fact that the cartilage is not getting a sufficient amount of fluid in the knee region and this causes osteoarthritis. So, our main focus is to make sure that our body gets fluid. Eat: A good amount of water is needed in the body, 5-6 liters of water is at least needed in the body, the blood is there 5-6 liters so at least that much of water is needed in the body. Start storing the water in copper bottles so as to make sure we get a good amount of copper. Copper is the required mineral which helps in treating fluid. Calcium is another mineral which is needed in this stage to make sure our bones are working in harmony, calcium helps in treating all the disease related to growth and wear tear of our tissues, so good source of calcium are green leafy vegetables because not only they are easily absorbed in the body but also we can rely on the plant vegetables for not producing toxicity in the body. Seeds are another good source of calcium, for example, flax seeds. When we eat the right kind of food at the right time we make sure that it is easily absorbed. Let us start your day with a good amount of water, 2-3 glasses of warm water help in flushing out the toxins. These toxins which come and make our immunity vulnerable to diseases need to be flushed. Your breakfast should comprise something light, a fruit bowl and after some time a vegetable juice is easy to digest. This will help in the absorption of nutrients easily. The consumption of seeds after lunch like a mouth freshener is a very good chance of dealing with it. After that, in the evening time, roasted dried fruits, makhanas, corn, sprouts, are a good choice of snacks. Exercise: Let us start with dealing with the exercise part in a broader spectrum, exercising will not only help you in bringing back the comfort but also get a good amount of exercise. 1. After sitting on a chair, raise your legs at a right angle one by one and do it continuously, for 25 times. Do it with one long breath at a time. 2. A brisk walk is something that you can do daily without getting knee pain. 3. By sleeping on your back, you do leg raise alternately, this will put more pressure on the muscles. With the help of these guidelines, you will surely be able to work on your knee gap and your exercises will be fruitful without discomfort or pain. Hopefully, these suggestions will help you. Thank you
