I am obese and diabetic. How to treat this?
Dr. Khushbu Suthar
05:36 PM | 11-03-2020
Hello Ritesh, Obesity and Diabetes are both correlated to each other with a simple reason, the function of the pancreas is a breakdown of food for it to digest. Insulin, a hormone of the pancreas which helps in the breakdown starts becoming slow. The resistance of insulin stops the breakdown of food and our nutrients from the food we eat do not get absorbed rather accumulates in a non-healthy way. This is the reason for obesity. It is time to go light on your body and cut down any food item which is making your body sluggish, the tamasic diet makes our metabolization slow and does not allow the correct nutrients to reach our body. The example of a tamasic diet is cheese and other milk products, gluten, rotten food items, smoking, alcohol and what it is leading to is a sedentary lifestyle. By taking the right amount of protein you can also help in muscle building and reduce unwanted fat accumulation. Your body needs a lighter type of food to regain its natural process and that is how we can help you. By following a natural way, we can definitely treat the cause. Eat: A good amount of water is needed in the body, 5-6 litres of water is at least needed in the body, the blood is there 5-6 litres so at least that much of water is needed in the body. These toxins which come and make our immunity vulnerable to diseases need to be flushed out to shed the extra kilos. Start the day with glasses of warm water, at one teaspoon of methi seeds which will help in increasing insulin sensitivity. Vegetable juice with one bottle guard, coriander leaves and one inch of ginger blended together will help in reducing unwanted fat. Have, for your breakfast a bowl of sprouts with one teaspoon of turmeric and rock salt. It will accelerate the body's metabolism process. Your mid-meal around 11, should include fruits that are rich in antioxidants and help in increasing action of cells like orange, mosumbi, berries, etc. Continue with one buckwheat flour roti with any oil-free vegetable. Have a glass of aloe vera and Indian gooseberry juice with beetroot which is a combination to reduce unwanted fats. After an hour you can munch on like 4 almonds and 3 dried apricots and 2 walnuts. increase vitamins in your body to get an ideal physique. In dinner continue with one soup bowl like tomato or mix vegetables. Continue this diet for a month it will be helpful for both obesity and diabetes. Exercise: Let us start with dealing with the exercise part in a broader spectrum, exercising will not only help you in bringing back the comfort but also get a good amount of energy. 1. A brisk walk is something that you can do daily. 2. Do a run with a speed of 5-6 km in 30-40 minutes in the morning and you can also choose swimming. These things will help in hastening the process of getting an ideal weight. 3. Suryanamaskar helps in giving the body required stamina and strength, do 12 sets every morning. 4. Crunches and Squats will help in reducing extra belly fat and tone thighs. you can do 15-10 times each at one time. With the help of these guidelines, you will surely be able to work on you and your exercises will be fruitful. Meditation: Practice mindful meditation. Deal with your stress. Allow positivity to be part of your life. Doing a 15-minute exercise before sleep like deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind, you can use music also for relaxation. A calm mind will lead to a healthier body. A powerful method is of visualization, imagine yourself while relaxing to have the desired body, feel the same, and see yourself with toned up physique. This will not only help you in beating the stress but also have strong self-esteem. Sleep: Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is very essential for the body, during sleep our body repairs itself and rejuvenates us for the whole day. All the inflammatory process will be treated well once you feel healthy. Hopefully, these suggestions will help you. Thank you.
Hi guys! I am down with fever. Gradually going up n going to touch 102. Pain in the throat n body. Any suggestion?
Mamta Arya
01:15 PM | 19-11-2018
For pain in the throat, take steam regularly. You could also gargle with warm water and honey. I find it more soothing than salt which can actually cause more irritation if there is an infection inside. Don’t eat any cooked food, non-veg, fish, grains. Ideally you should go completely on raw foods. There are a lot of recipes of salads, smoothies and juices on this website for ideas. When fever goes down, and appetite returns continue to be high on raw foods i.e fruits, raw vegetable salads, raw vegetable juices. You could lightly steam vegetables and eat it mixed with nice herbs, like sprinkle of pudina, dhaniya etc. Introducing no grain meals, so yes khichdi is out! You could instead go for millets.
